Grandparent Surprises: Part 2

After a wonderful visit with Mimi and Pop-Pop, it was time for Mamaw and Papaw to come for their Texas trip!  Because your big brother was asleep when we picked them up at the airport, we had to until after his nap to share the big news with them.  I didn't manage to get any pictures, but I did capture a priceless video of their reaction.  They were very surprised and can't wait for October to meet you!

Love you,

Momma

Grandparent Surprises: Part 1

Hi Little One!  Here is your Big Brother, all ready to go surprise Mimi and Pop-Pop at the airport with our big news.

Mimi and Pop-Pop were so excited to learn you were coming.  I think we really surprised them!  Looking forward to surprising Mamaw and Papaw when they come visit next week.

Love you,

Momma

Hello, Little One!  Daddy and I were so excited to see you for the first time at our doctor's appointment today.  They say you are already growing healthy and strong.  We didn't get to hear your heartbeat yet, but we did see it.  It's amazing to see what all you can already do!

They did find a small blood clot, called a subchorionic hematoma, which most likely contributed to the spotting I experienced the other day.  It happens sometimes, and is normally harmless and reabsorbed into the placenta.  The doctor just asked me to take it easy until my next appointment in two weeks, during which time they will check to make sure it reabsorbed.  I should have no problem taking it easy, since this afternoon begins all of the grandparent visits!  They are going to be so excited to find out about you!

Love you,

Momma

Good Company

Hey Little One, guess what?  You are going to have a friend!  My good friend, Ms. E, just told me today that she is also expecting in October.  You and her little baby are the same week!  How neat!  I can't wait to tell her that we are also pregnant.  It was hard to keep it quiet, but we are waiting until at least until after the appointment on Thursday (to make sure you are growing healthy and strong!) and we definitely want to tell your grandparents first.  It's going to be a tough couple weeks keeping this secret from our friends, but I know they will be excited for us when they do find out.

So excited to share our news!

Love you,

Momma

Anxious

Oh Little One, you gave me quite the scare this week.  On Monday I had some spotting and cramping and I was worried that maybe something was wrong.  I never spotted with Little Buddy, and I have been so anxious since your Daddy and I just don't know what to do with the fact that we got pregnant with you so quickly and easily.  We're just not used to that!  Thankfully, all those scary symptoms went away and you are still snuggled safely where you belong.  I continue to pray for your safety and development and am excited to see you at our first OBGYN appointment on this coming Thursday.  Until then, be safe and happy.  We love you so much!

All my love,

Momma

Important Errands

Oh Little One, it was a busy day today!  Daddy, Little Buddy, and I ran a lot of errands, one of which was getting Little Buddy a new shirt!

We're looking forward to having him wear it when your grandparents arrive later this month.  I know they will be very excited to hear about you!

Here was another important, though unexpected, errand of the day:

Donuts!  I blame you, Little One, for this odd craving.  I don't even like donuts (this stems from my working in a donut factory when I was in high school), but I just had to have a glazed tonight.  I hope that satisfies you, my dear, because I'm not a big fan of sugary cravings!  Let's chow on some fruit, instead, shall we?  :)

Love you,

Momma

Not All Sunshine and Rainbows

My best friend as of late...

It's hard to believe that such a little peanut can cause so much discomfort.  I am glad there has been no morning sickness (knock on wood), but the bloating has been significantly more than with my first pregnancy.  Oh Little One, if you can just make this the most difficult part of the entire pregnancy, I would be so appreciative.  ;)

Love always,

Momma

Secret Victories

Shhhhh baby, don't tell anyone yet...

But we just ran 13.1 miles together without stopping!  Daddy and Little Buddy were so proud of us.  That's quite an accomplishment for a 6-week old in utero.  But shhhhh...it's still a secret. :)

I love you, baby!  I hope one day you (and your brother) will want to really run races with me!

Love always,

Momma
